Exercise 0.1 - Introduction

These training exercises are designed to give you a good start working with Hopp. As with any tool with depth and complexity, you will of course experience that your proficiency in using Hopp will deepen considerably with use and experience. Hopefully, these exercises will give you a good understanding of the components in Hopp and how they all play together to support and execute complex data migrations.

The exercises are built around a fictive case involving the migration of two banks. You can read about this project in the Training case description document attached below.

About the training

The exercises start at a point where some work has already been done. The Customer and Account Business Objects are already in place and working.  We ask you - on top of that - to build a new Business Object Card and also in the later exercises to fix some problems in the Customer/Account Business Objects.

The exercises are a sequence of work, each step builds upon the previous steps. Please be thorough, in many exercises there is a lot of detail. Do your best to be accurate and work through everything. Skipping parts of an exercises will most probably come back to bite as a problem in a later exercise. If you do experience problems, try to go back in your work to find the cause.

Please be aware that some of the sections contain more exercises that are initially visible on the welcome screen. Click the View all link for these sections to get the complete list of exercises.

If you get stuck, you can always reach out to us and we will do our best to help you sort things out with very small delay, indeed mostly no delay at all. All necessary contact information has been provided together with the information to access your training slot.

Hopp Tech provides you with a training environment on our server. Hopp cannot guarantee that any data that you store in your environment remains intact. Likewise, we cannot guarantee the confidentiality of any data you store in your environment.

For this reason, we strongly recommend that you only use the environment for the training experience and your own experimentation. Please do not store any confidential data or data of any value in your training environment.

You are very welcome to use the environment to create a proof of concept using a case from your own domain. However, we recommend that you from time to time copy your work from our server to your own environment in order not to risk losing it.
